Rigid Foam

Poly Products manufactures both flexible polyurethane foam and rigid polyurethane foam for different water-proofing and thermal insulation applications.

The polyurethane spray-on foam for roofs can be formulated at site so as to produce the insulating layer directly on the roof. With the result, the roof gets both heat-insulated and sealed simultaneously. Whereas, with conventional flat roofs, different layers of materials need to be used making it a cumbersome process as compared to this polyurethane spray-on foam application process.

Both renovation of old roofs as well as insulation of new roofs can be done using the Raha polyurethane foam spray-on application process.

In this process, the reactive components are blended along with the catalyst and other foam stabilizing agents & flame retardant additives at site which causes the mixture to expand and form a consistently high quality liquid. Due to an exothermic reaction, this liquid produces foam which expands and then hardens to form rigid foam which is extremely strong as well as light and which forms an integral unit within itself and all other materials it has been applied on.

Rigid polyurethane foam is an excellent thermal insulation material and the thermal insulation of 25mm thick Rigid polyurethane foam is equivalent to that of wool of 80mm thickness and foamed concrete of 160mm thickness.

Advantages of Insitu Polyurethane Spray-on Foam Application

  •  Fast and efficient process.
  •  High thermal insulation capability with low thermal conductivity.
  •  Superior laminar self adhesion to all types of roof decks.
  •  Spray-on application technique seals all cracks, openings, splits and similar imperfections.
  •  Provides simple and joint-less monolithic layer of roofs, domes, pipes, parapets and ventilation ducts.
  •  The liquid-to-solid expansion property of the foam enables it to be self-flashing on the parapet, eliminating the need for metal flashing.
  •  The closed-cell structure of the foam provides a continuous barrier against penetration by water thereby making it waterproof.
  •  When sprayed on roofs, the insulation effect of the foam reduces thermal shocks.
  •  Provides structural stability to old and leaky roofs.
  •  Fire retardant classification is B2 according to DIN 4102.
 Benefits of Polyurethane Spray-on Foam

  •  Cooler internal wall temperatures leading to better comfort for the occupants.
  •  Reduction of electricity consumption and consequently the power bills for air-conditioning by 30 to 40%.
  •  The initial procurement costs of air-conditioning systems get reduced since a less powerful system would serve the purpose due to excellent insulation capabilities of the foam.
  •  When power cuts occur, the interiors of the building stay cool for a longer time.
